LIVING OUR MISSION

Between 2000 and 2002, a special committee met to determine the future course of our church. Through workshops, small group meetings and full congregational discussions, a Vision, Mission and Values statement was developed. Using our nine Values as a guide, we keep looking at fresh ways to keep our church a vital and dynamic place where people can realize their full spiritual potential and share it with the world.

Our goals are ambitious—and exciting.

1.  Implement our Vision

● Review and modify our church constitution to reflect today’s needs and circumstances. Underway: complete in 2008.

● Evaluate our physical structure and develop a long-range plan.   
● Continue to evaluate member and community needs and expand the development of our care ministry.

● Explore new and more effective ways to plan, organize and implement our programs.

2.  Increase opportunities for unchurched persons in our community to experience the support, friendship and caring of our church family.

3. Make a formal commitment to the UCC Open & Affirming policy and program. Adopted 2007.

4. Establish a vehicle to enhance communication among members, staff and pastor. Completed 2007.

5. Expand local, national and international mission trip opportunities. Begun in 2005 and ongoing.
