MEET OUR PASTOR

Welcome to the Congregational United Church of Christ of Arlington Heights on the worldwide web! My name is Rex Piercy and I am privileged to serve this church as its pastor.

This is a time of change and renewal for our church as we seek to live more effectively and faithfully in the present. Like our own lives, and within our own families, church communities also experience change. Every week I see spirits grow as lives are transformed.

This doesn't mean that change always comes easy. As a "congregational" church, we are not always of one mind. Our lives are not all the same. We are affluent and not so affluent, old

and young, traditional and progressive. Some of us live in  families. Some are single or widowed, gay or lesbian. Some of us have a church background and some of us never set foot in a church before coming to CUCC.

We are not the same, but we are connected. As our United Church of Christ denomination reminds us, our call is unity—not in all things, but in Christ Jesus, who centers us and helps us build relationships. Christ opens our eyes to see, not just our differences, but our common human strengths and weaknesses.  This is our Vision: To be a community of Christ, taking God's word and work into the world, and that shapes our Mission: To grow disciples for Christian service.

Would you fit in here? There's no substitute for trying us out for yourself.

What can we offer to you? What do you offer us? How can we be in relationship with one another? I invite you to come to worship on Sundays and stay for our great fellowship after the service. We offer  education programs for adults, youth, and children on Sunday mornings (and others times, too). Nursery care is always available.

If you have questions, I invite you to email me at pastorcucc@sbcglobal.net

We sit on West Kirchoff Road near Northwest Community Hospital in the Chicago suburb of Arlington Heights. But it's what's inside this place that counts. Come, test the spirit at Congregational UCC.  See how it feels, how it fits. Then let's talk.

Pastor Rex
